The Moto Z3 Play which was in the news all this while courtesy of leaks and rumors has been launched officially by Lenovo owned Motorola. The latest Moto Z series smartphone continues the trend of featuring Moto Mods support to enhance the experience of the users. It is also the first smartphone in the Moto Z series to feature a dual camera setup on the rear panel.
The Moto Z3 Play has been unveiled in Brazil with a price tag of BRL 2,299 (roughly Rs 40,000). It is expected to be made available in the US shortly with a price tag of around $499 9Rs 33,500 approximately) along with the Moto Powerpack. The smartphone will be rolled out in other countries soon after however the price details of India has not been revealed by the company yet.
Coming to the specifications of the smartphone, The Moto Z3 Play is built using a 6000 series polished aluminum frame with a splash resistant P2i nano-coating. The smartphone also features the One Button Nav bar on the bottom that allows gesture controls. It also includes an array of four microphones with advanced natural language processing software to provide an enriched Google Assistant experience. The smartphone comes with a front port loudspeaker and also features a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Talking about the internal specifications of the smartphone, the Moto Z3 Play features a 6.01-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and an 18:9 Max Vision aspect ratio. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC under the hood with Adreno 509 GPU and 4GB of RAM.
On the optics front, the smartphone comes with a dual rear camera setup comprising of a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with Dual Autofocus Pixel (pDAF) technology. It is accompanied by a dual LED flash. On the front, the Moto Z3 Play features an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with features like face beauty, active photos, group selfie mode and face unlock.
The smartphone is available in two variants of 32GB and 64GB of inbuilt storage space. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC and USB Type-C charging port. It is fueled by a 3,000 mAh battery that supports the fast charging feature. The smartphone also includes a fingerprint scanner on the side and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
