BlackBerry KEY2 with Dual Rear Cameras and QWERTY Keypad launched in India

Opteimus Infracom, the sole manufacturer, and distributor of BlackBerry devices in India has launched the BlackBerry KEY2 smartphone today. It features a series 7 aluminum metal frame, a textured diamond grip back panel, a QWERTY keyboard with some shortcuts that will allow the users to launch apps and widgets easily by pressing just a single key. It is also the first smartphone from the company to feature a dual camera setup on the rear panel with portrait mode and optical zoom capabilities.

Coming to the price, the BlackBerry KEY2 carries a price tag of Rs 42,990 and will be available exclusively via Amazon from July 31 onwards. It comes bundled with a Reliance Jio cashback offer of Rs 4,450 in addition to an ICICI Bank cashback offer.

Talking about the design of the BlackBerry KEY2, it features a QWERTY keyboard packed with all the latest specifications. The back panel of the phone is made up of textured plastic and features a dual camera setup that has been placed horizontally. It features a 3.5mm audio jack that has been placed on the top edge, while the right edge of the smartphone features the power and the volume keys. In addition, it also features a ‘speed’ key on the right edge that can open up any app set into it.

Coming to the specifications, the BlackBerry KEY2 features a 4.5-inch full HD IPS LCD display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top and 3:2 aspect ratio. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM.

On the optics front, the device features a horizontally placed dual rear cameras each having a resolution of 12-megapixels along with dual-tone LED flash, HDR, 4K video recording, 30fps and dual PDAF. On the front, it features an 8-megapixel sensor that is capable of HD video recording as well.

The smartphone is available in two variants of 64GB and 128GB internal storage space. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, FM radio, 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C port. Powered by a 3,500mAh battery, the phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
