After launching a slew of OnePlus 6 variants which includes the Marvel Avengers limited edition and the OnePlus 6 silk white limited edition, the company has launched a red edition of the smartphone. It features an amber-like effect that is claimed to be created by expert craftsmanship. It also features a metallic red glossy finish on the back coupled with a mirror-like fingerprint sensor that contrasts well with the silver camera lens.
The new red edition of the OnePlus 6 now joins the multiple other variants available that include the midnight black variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage, mirror black with 8GB RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage and the limited edition silk white variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage space.
Regarding the price of the OnePlus 6 red edition, it will be available for purchase at a price of Rs 39,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage version. It will go on sale in the country from July 16 and will be available via OnePlus online stores and Amazon.
Talking about the specifications, the OnePlus 6 red edition is claimed to have been designed using a new technique that has never been used before. It uses an optical coating, evaporative film and six panels of glass. OnePlus has further claimed that the smartphone has a translucent orange layer that mixes well with the red layer to induce a red glossy finish to the device. The handset also features a mirror-like red fingerprint sensor on the rear panel.
Coming to the internal specifications, the OnePlus 6 red edition features a 6.28-inch full HD+ AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 X 2280 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with 8GB of RAM and Adreno 630 GPU. It features a dual rear camera setup with a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 20-megapixel secondary sensor. Both the cameras are supported by dual-LED flash and on the front, it features another 16-megapixel sensor for taking selfies and video calling.
