WhatsApp Group Video and Voice Calling Feature Now Available on Android and iOS

WhatsApp Group Calling feature with voice and video call support has finally gone live. The feature was first discovered back in October last year and was subsequently announced by Facebook at the F8 developer’s conference held in May this year. The new feature is now available for users on the Android and iOS platforms throughout the world. The group calling feature allows up to four users to join together in a video or voice call conference.

Whatsapp rolls out Group Calling feature to Android and iOS

WhatsApp had enabled the video calling feature back in 2016, but it was limited to two users only. With the rollout of this feature, up to four users will be able to group call among themselves both on the Android and iOS platforms. WhatsApp has posted on its blog that the new feature will work with slow internet connections as well. Apart from that, the calls are also end-to-end encrypted just like its chats to avoid third-party monitoring.

In order to start a group video or voice call, you need to first make a video call or voice call to one of the participants on WhatsApp. Following this, you will be able to see a button at the top right corner of the screen which will allow you to add another participant to the call. In this way, you will be able to add a maximum of four participants on the call including you. However, to use this new feature, you need to download or update to the latest version of WhatsApp from the Google Play store or Apple App store. you can download the GBWhatsapp Apk from here.

If we compare this group calling feature with some of the other apps which also boasts this functionality, we have Facebook Messenger which allows group calling with up to 50 participants.  Skype, on the other hand, supports 25 and Snapchat supports 16. FaceTime by Apple is expected to support up to 32 participants once the iOS 12 is rolled out in late September this year.
