BSNL Launches Rs 27 Prepaid Plan to Offer Unlimited Voice Calls and 1GB Data for One Week

State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched a new Rs 27 prepaid plan to offer unlimited voice calling benefits and data to its users and challenge its rivals. The new entry-level plan from BSNL offers 1GB of data alongside unlimited voice calling benefits to the users for a period of 7 days. This plan comes right after the launch of the Rs 171 prepaid plan last week.

BSNL unveils new plans

The new prepaid plan offers a validity of 7 days as reported by TelecomTalk. The plan is also said to offer unlimited voice calls to any network in the country along with 300 SMS messages. The new plan is reported to be made available on all the telecom circles starting August 6. However, the voice calling benefits will not be available in the Delhi and Mumbai circles as BSNL does not operate in these circles.

To compare the BSNL plan with plans of other telecom operators, Reliance Jio has a prepaid plan of Rs 52 which offers 1.05GB of data, unlimited voice calls to any network and 70 free SMS messages with a validity of 7 days. Reliance Jio also has a Rs 49 plan that offers 1GB of 4G data, unlimited voice calls and 50 SMS messages with a validity of 28 days. This plan, however, is only available to Jio Phone users.

Airtel also has a plan that matches with the benefits offered by BSNL. The plan priced at Rs 47, offers 150 minutes of local, STD and roaming calls along with 50 local + national SMS messages and 500MB of 3G/4G data. Vodafone recently also refreshed its Rs 47 prepaid plan. The plan offers 125 minutes of local and STD calls, 50 local and national SMS messages and 500MB of 3G/4G data with a validity of 28 days.
