Japanese consumer technology giant Sony has launched a new smartphone at the ongoing IFA 2018. Called Sony Xperia XZ3, the smartphone comes with top of the line specifications and features and also a premium design. In terms of looks, it is quite similar to its predecessor Xperia XZ2 but it boasts better specifications than its earlier iteration.
Coming to the price of the Sony Xperia XZ3, it carries a price tag of 699 Euros (Rs 63,000 approximately) and will be available from September 2018 in select global markets. It will be available in multiple color options of Black, Silver, White, Forest Green and Bordeaux Red.
Talking about the specifications, the Sony Xperia XZ3 features a 6-inch notch less QHD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Notably, the Xperia XZ3 is the smartphone from Sony to arrive with an OLED display with HDR support, TRILUMONOUS display and X-Reality for mobile. It is protected by 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top.
The Xperia XZ3 comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage space which can be further upgraded to a maximum of 400GB via a micro-SD card. The Xperia XZ3 also becomes the first smartphone from the Japanese company to run on Android 9 Pie with a custom Sony UI on top.
On the optics front, the Xperia XZ3 features a single 19-megapixel primary sensor on the rear panel with f/2.2 aperture and Glens. The camera is capable of recording videos at 4K resolution and also supports slow-motion video recording at 960fps. On the front, it features a 13-megapixel sensor for taking selfies and video calling. The camera features a 22mm wide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and is capable of recording videos at 1080p.
The Xperia XZ3 comes with IP65 /IP68 certification for water and dust resistivity but it does not feature the 3.5mm audio jack. The USB Type-C port instead doubles up as an audio port with LDAC support. It is powered by a 3300mAh battery under the hood that supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 with USB Type-C port and also supports wireless charging.
