HMD Global, the licensee of Nokia smartphones is expected to launch a new flagship device called Nokia 9. While we have seen a couple of leaked renders of the alleged Nokia 9, a recent report also claimed that the smartphone will not see the light of the day at least until February 2019. Apart from the Nokia 9, the company is also expected to launch another device called Nokia 7.1 Plus or Nokia X7. Some images of the alleged Nokia 7.1 Plus has now been leaked on Chinese microblogging site Weibo and it shows the front display panel clearly.
The images show that the Nokia 7.1 Plus may arrive with a 5.9-inch full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2160 X 1080 pixels. The images also show that the smartphone features thin bezels on three sides while the bottom edge features a thick bezel. The top edge of the phone will feature the front-facing camera and the proximity sensor. Some reports have also claimed that the device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset instead of the Snapdragon 660SoC that was used on the Nokia 7 Plus. The device is also likely to be powered by a larger battery than the one found on the Nokia 7 Plus.
The alleged Nokia 7.1 Plus is also expected to arrive with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of inbuilt storage space which can be further upgraded with the help of a micro-SD card. It should be noted that all these facts are based on speculations and hence should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Talking about the launch date, some reports have claimed that the smartphone could be announced in October. Just like the Nokia X5 and Nokia X6, the Nokia 7.1 Plus may be launched in China as Nokia X7 before being unveiled globally as the Nokia 7.1 Plus.
