Nokia 7.1 to Launch in India in November; Likely to be Priced Below Rs 30,000

HMD Global, the licensee of Nokia smartphones had launched a slew of new devices in India this year with interesting design elements like an all-glass design, dual cameras, notch type display and more. Now, as per a report, the company is all set to launch the Nokia 7.1 in the country that was launched in Europe this month.

According to a report by 91Mobiles, HMD Global will launch the Nokia 7.1 in November in the country. The company recently showcased the Nokia 7.1 at the Indian Mobile Congress event held in New Delhi. The Nokia 7.1 features similar design elements to Nokia 6.1 Plus which is now available in the country for Rs 16,999.

Coming to the price, the report claims that the Nokia 7.1 will be priced under Rs 30,000 in the country. If the Nokia 7.1 is priced more than Rs 20,000 then it might become difficult for the company to sell it to the Indian masses as a number of other smartphone makers like Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo have already launched smartphones with better specifications at a much lower price. It remains to be seen, what the company plans for the price.

Interestingly, an earlier report had claimed that HMD Global will not launch the Nokia 7.1 in India and will directly bring the Nokia 7.1 Plus instead which has been launched in China as Nokia X7. The Nokia X7 or Nokia 7.1 Plus features better specifications and camera elements than the Nokia 7.1.

Coming to the specifications, the Nokia 7.1 features a 5.84-inch HDR compatible IPS LCD display with full HD resolution support of 2280 X 1080 pixels. It is protected on the top by 2.5D curved tempered glasses. Under the hood, the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon  636 SoC with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB of inbuilt storage space. The internal storage can be further upgraded with a micro-SD card.

On the camera front, the Nokia 7.1 features a dual rear camera module with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with an LED flash. On the front, it features an 8-megapixel sensor for taking selfies.
