Nokia 9 Leaked Renders Show off 18:9 Aspect Display and Penta-Camera Setup

The Nokia 9, which is amongst the most anticipated smartphones from HMD Global is expected to arrive sometime next year. While it was speculated earlier that the upcoming flagship device may see the light of the day this year itself, it is now being reported that it will debut at the MWC next year. This means we will have to wait for a couple of more months to get our hands on the device. However, this flagship device has been a subject of leaks over the past few months and now some more leaked renders of the alleged device have appeared online.

The renders and a 360 video of the Nokia 9 has been shared by a reputed tipster, OnLeaks in collaboration with 91Mobiles. The leaked images show the device from all angles and reveal that it will feature an edge-to-edge display with very thin bezels on all sides. The images further suggest that the Nokia 9 will not feature a display notch unlike the Nokia 6.1 or Nokia 7.1.

The report suggests that the Nokia 9 will sport a 5.9-inch QHD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It will also feature an all-glass design and may not arrive with a fingerprint sensor on the rear. This indicates that HMD Global may finally introduce the in-display fingerprint sensor technology on the Nokia 9.

The major highlight of the Nokia 9, however, is the penta camera module on the rear panel. The 360-degree video shows that the Nokia 9 will feature five cameras on the rear panel arranged in a hexagonal ring-shaped manner. If this report turns out to be true then it would become the first Nokia smartphone to feature a penta-camera module. Out of the seven cutouts placed in a hexagonal ring, five will be used for cameras and one for an LED flash. The other one is likely to be used for a proximity sensor.

While the renders have leaked more or less all the design elements of the Nokia 9, information about the internal specifications of the smartphone are still scarce at the moment. However it is expected that the Nokia 9 will be powered by either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC or the Snapdragon 855 SoC and it will run on Android 9 Pie out of the box. The device may sports 8GB of RAM with 128GB of inbuilt storage.
