OnePlus 5G Smartphone Pricing Leaked; Likely to Cost Rs 53,034

OnePlus recently introduced the OnePlus 6T which is the successor to OnePlus 6 launched earlier in the year. The OnePlus 6T boasts premium features like a 6.41-inch full HD+ notch display, Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage space. The smartphone has been well received by the audience all over the globe and now the Chinese company has started teasing a 5G enabled smartphone. The device is expected to make its way to the market by next year and would become the first 5G enabled device from OnePlus.

While there has been a number of leaks regarding the OnePlus 5G device, a new report has now surfaced that claims that the device will arrive with a slightly higher price tag than the OnePlus 6T. OnePlus is rumored to increase the price of its upcoming handset by 100 Euros (Rs 8,168 approximately). This means the OnePlus 5G enabled device will arrive with a price tag of EUR 649 which is EUR 100 higher than the OnePlus 6T that retails at EUR 549.

Since the 5G enabled device will feature either a Snapdragon 8150 SoC or Snapdragon 855 SoC coupled with Snapdragon X50 cellular modem for providing 5G connectivity, the higher price tag is justified.

OnePlus has already confirmed that it will unveil a 5G enabled smartphone next year and it is likely to arrive within the first quarter of 2019. The upcoming 5G enabled device will compete with other 5G smartphones from the likes of Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, LG, and others. The company has further confirmed that the flagship OnePlus 7 will not be 5G enabled and the company is working on another smartphone that will arrive with 5G connectivity. However, both the upcoming devices will feature similar specifications to each other and it remains to see how well these devices are received by the audience next year.
