It’s the beauty of Google’s Android Go program, Redmi Go which is considered as one of the participating devices for Android Go is going to be the cheapest smartphone ever with all essential features of a standard smartphone.
Xiaomi has adopted Android One program for Mi A2 earlier and experienced mixed success in the mid-range devices. Redmi is preparing itself for another phone under the umbrella of Google’s Android Go program where it will be producing a low-cost budget-friendly smartphone.
If it gets a success, Xiaomi may manufacture a range of smartphones under this program. It has been more than five years when Google partnered with four Indian manufacturers Spice, Karbonn, Lava and Micromax for Android One program at the low-end entry-level phones. That initiative had seen mixed success as well.
Xiaomi’s market strategy is offering a good device in the budget segment. This is where Google has made its eye encompassed on. The whole target is to get as much as people under Android program while Xiaomi’s target is to increase brand visibility by selling as many devices as possible.
There has been a lot of talks about the model no M1903C3GG because this particular device has received a lot of certifications from FCC in the US and EEC in Russia. Though in these two certifications there is no sign of Android Go program, in Singapore’s IMDA certification, it got an identical model number that picked up the questions after questions.
According to the FCC certification, it has dual SIM dual 4G setup with a string 2.4 GHz WiFi and 4.2 versioned Bluetooth as a connectivity option. It’s expected to run on Android Pie and may be powered by 2 GB RAM.
