The Chinese smartphone giant Lenovo launched its much awaited Lenovo K4 Note on 5th of January 2016. The K4 Note is said to be a worthy successor of K3 Note phablet which was launched in June last year and came loaded with impressive features. Now excitement is mounting as tech geeks eagerly await lay their hands on the next flagship, Lenovo K5 Note that was launched two days ago (25th January 2016) in China. Within the span of a year Lenovo launched K3 Note,K4 Note and K5 Note all in quick succession. Lenovo K3 Note, K4 Note and K5 Note Features:

With each phablet Lenovo seem to have made upgrades that has been subjected to both praise and criticism from some quarters. Shortly we’ll see what are the features that has been praised and criticised.

Lenovo K3 Note, K4 Note and K5 Note Display:

Lenovo K3 Note: Speaking of display, Lenovo K3 Note has 5.5 inches (71.7% screen-to-body ratio) with 1080 x 1920 pixels (401 ppi pixel density) resolution and multitouch facility for upto 5 fingers. Added to these it has IPS capacitive touchscreen of 16M colors.

Lenovo K4 Note: Like its predecessor, it has 5.5 inches (71.0% screen-to-body ratio) display with 1080 x 1920 pixels (401 ppi pixel density) resolution. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, has multitouch facility and has IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors.

Lenovo K5 Note: It looks like the Lenovo Notes haven’t done much to upgrade the display. The K5 Note has 5.5 inches (72.5% screen-to-body ratio) display, and comes with 5.5 inches (~72.5% screen-to-body ratio) display, LTPS IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors and multi-touching capability.

When it comes to display there isn’t much difference between the three. 

 

Lenovo K3 Note, K4 Note and K5 Note Processor:

Lenovo K3 Note: The Lenovo K3 Note consists of Octa-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Mediatek MT6752 chipset, Mali-T760MP2 GPU and Android OS, v5.0 (Lollipop) Operating System.

Lenovo K4 Note: Whereas the Lenovo K4 Note has Octa-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Mediatek MT6752 Chipset, Mali-T760MP2 and Android OS, v5.0 (Lollipop) Operating System.

Lenovo K5 Note: And unlike its predecessor, the all new Lenovo K5 Note has got Octa-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A53, Mediatek MT6755 Helio P10 chipset, Mali-T860MP2 GPU and the operating system is Android OS, v5.1 (Lollipop).

With a powerful processor and operating system, the Lenovo K5 Note seem to have left its predecessors behind. Lenovo K5 Note is the sure-shot winner of this segment.

 

Lenovo K3 Note, K4 Note and K5 Note Storage:

Lenovo K3 Note: When it comes to storage, the Lenovo K3 Note has an internal storage of 16 GB which can be expanded via microSD, up to 32 GB. The device has 2 GB RAM.

Lenovo K4 Note: The Lenovo K4 Note has an internal storage capacity of 16 GB with 3 GB RAM for Lenovo K4 Note A7010a48 and 8/16/32 GB plus 2 GB RAM for Lenovo K4 Note A7010.

Lenovo K5 Note: This device has an internal storage capacity of 16 GB which can be expanded via microSD, up to 128 GB. The device has 2 GB RAM.

Lenovo K5 Note has taken a giant leap on this one. Unlike the other two phablets, this one is offering an expandable memory up to a whopping 128 GB. 

 

 

Lenovo K3 Note, K4 Note and K5 Note Camera:

Lenovo K3 Note: The phablet sports a 13MP rear camera with dual-LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera.

Lenovo K4 Note: The Lenovo K4 Note features 13MP rear camera with dual-LED (dual tone) flash, phase detection autofocus, and a 5MP front-facing camera.

Lenovo K5 Note: The device supports 13 MP, f/2.2, phase detection autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash with 8MP front camera.

Lenovo K5 seems to offer a better selfie camera than than rest and identical rear camera features. Lenovo K5 is a clear winner in this segment too.

Lenovo K3 Note: Lenovo K3 Note is powered with removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery that has a stand-by time up to 750 hour (3G) and talktime up to 36 hours (3G).

Lenovo K4 Note: Lenovo K5 Note is packed with non- removable Li-Po 3300 mAh battery that has a stand-by time up to 265 hour (3G) and talktime up to 23 hours (2G) / up to 22 hours (3G).

Lenovo K5 Note: The brand new phablet sports non-removable Li-Ion 3500 mAh battery that has a stand-by time up to 543 hour (3G) and talktime up to 34 hours (3G) / up to 27 hours 30 min.

Though packed with a better battery the Lenovo K5 is offering reduced  stand-by and talktime when compared to Lenovo K3. Therefore Lenovo K3 seems a better choice in this one.

Lenovo K3 Note: As far as connectivity is concerned the Lenovo K3 Note supports Wi-Fi (802.11 b/ g/ n), Bluetooth  v 4.10, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm headphones, FM and two micro-SIM.

Lenovo K4 Note: The Lenovo K4 Note supports Wi-Fi (802.11 a/ b/ g/ n/ ac), Bluetooth  v 4.00, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm headphones, FM and two micro-SIM.

Lenovo K5 Note: The device features Wi-Fi (802.11 a/ b/ g/ n/ ac), Bluetooth  v 4.00, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm headphones, FM and two nano-SIM.

Nothing extraordinary from one to the other. The features offered are almost identical.
