Samsung Galaxy On 8 with budget features to launch in India soon

Samsung, the South Korean hardware manufacturer best known for their high-end flagship smartphones, is looking towards expanding its budget offering base in India with their new upcoming smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy On8. The Galaxy On8 will belong to the family of the previously launched On series smartphones from Samsung, among which the On5 Pro and On7 Pro were launched in India earlier this year at Rs 9,190 and Rs 11,190 respectively.

The company has started teasing the upcoming Samsung Galaxy On8 as “The Next On” on online shopping website Flipkart, whose highly anticipated “Big Billion Days Sale” commences from October 2. The name of the smartphone has been spotted on Flipkart as being among their partners. The smartphone has been teased on the e-commerce platform’s Facebook page as, “Super AMOLED meets Full HD, #TheNextON Coming Soon.” The several hints make it apparent that the new Samsung Galaxy On8 will be exclusive to Flipkart, and there is a possibility that the device will be launched on the same day that the mega-sale begins on the platform.

The smartphones in Samsung’s On series are aimed particularly at the budget-conscious buyer. The ones that have been launched in India come with a host of useful features like a Data Saving mode, Turbo speed charging, and Samsung’s S Bike mode among others. While the Galaxy On8 is expected to sport similar features, not much has been revealed about the phone’s key specifications by Samsung. Among the things that we know is a full HD Super AMOLED display with a pixel resolution of 1920 x 1080, 3GB of RAM and a long-lasting battery. According to some speculations, the Samsung Galaxy On8 is expected to be powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor. Coming to the exterior of the upcoming device, the Samsung Galaxy On8 may feature metal frames running along the edges.

Samsung has run into a lot of trouble with consumers worldwide lately owing their recently released high-end flagship, the Galaxy Note 7, exploding or catching fire. Amidst a huge recall that will cost the company billions of dollars, Samsung has announced a few added perks for users in India who had pre-ordered the device for when it finally starts shipping.
