Apple to Discard Rear Fingerprint Sensor in iPhone 8, New Leaks Suggest

Ever since the iPhone 7 has been launched, the speculations about the next iteration, the iPhone 8, has flooded the internet. And maintaining the trend, some new rumours regarding the iPhone 8 design has now surfaced on the internet and it is very much interesting as well as realistic. Benjamin Geskin, a notable leakster and famous for his predictions about the Apple devices has leaked the schematics design of the upcoming iPhone 8, which has helped the tech enthusiasts to get a closer look at the internals of the upcoming flagship device.

According to the leaked schematics design of the handset, iPhone 8 is going to feature a vertical dual camera setup and the flash will be placed between the two camera sensors. The leaked image also suggest that the upcoming handset will feature front sensors and camera too. But the most prolific change we have witnessed in this schematics design is the omission of the rear fingerprint sensor.

Apple was planning to incorporate the fingerprint sensor underneath the display since a long time and has faced many challenges till date to do so. But finally, it seems that Apple has managed to find out the solution if we believe that the schematics design is authentic.

Contradictorily, some other reports indicate that the Cupertino-based tech conglomerate is going to ditch the idea of Touch ID altogether if they can not come up with a feasible solution to include it in the upcoming iPhone 8. Instead, the developers may go for the facial recognition for security access, which is looking a distant dream as of now.

Geskin also stated that the iPhone 8 is going to feature long range wireless charging up to 5 metres and there will be a USB Type-C-to-Lightning cable inside the box. If we talk about the resolution of the upcoming flagship device, according to the GeekBench testing benchmark the handset is expected to flaunt an HD screen with 1242×2800 screen resolution and 20.2:9 or 2.25:1 aspect ratio.
