First ‘Call of Duty: WW2’ Trailer Shows Off Stunning Details of A War-torn Setting

Activison and Sledghammer Games had promised to show us more of their upcoming Call of Duty installment. Although the announcement of Call of Duty: WW2 last week had taken fans by storm, thanks to the title that left nothing to the imagination regarding its setting, we didn’t get to see anything besides a poster of a man belonging in the US army staring stiffly at us holding dog tags in his hands. The promised trailer that the creators have now pushed out reveals much more.

As you can see in the clip, there are no clear gameplay representations. But the creators do state that the footage reveals actual moments from Call of Duty: WW2 itself. The treatment of the trailer is cinematic (albeit fragmented), and it showcases wartime bravado and individual doubt side by side. In achieving that, we would say, it is a success.

The game’s description provided on the official Call of Duty YouTube channel reads: “Over two years in the making, Sledgehammer Games delivers a gritty, personal experience in the setting of the largest worldwide conflict in history to a new gaming generation in Call of Duty: WW2. Play through the story of ordinary men-turned-soldiers in the 1st Infantry Division as they fight to preserve freedom in the face of tyranny. Call of Duty: WW2 delivers fast-paced, boots-on-ground combat through iconic locations in the European Theater.”

Other details that have been revealed along with the trailer include the upcoming game’s launch and private beta information. As was hinted at before by leaks, Call of Duty: WW2 is now available for pre-ordering in both digital and disc forms before it releases on November 3. We don’t really have a lot of information about the campaign or multiplayer modes, but hope to see a gameplay reveal soon.

According to previous leaks, the campaign will kick off in Normandy which will then lead on to several notable battles across Europe, and the co-operative multiplayer will include an original story with special focus on the bond between the soldiers. We will update whenever new official content is shared by the developers regarding Call of Duty: WW2.
