iPhone 8 May Feature Apple’s Smart Connector For Wireless Charging

Even though the launch of iPhone 8 is not happening anytime before September 2017, speculations regarding its features are at its peak among gadget enthusiasts and going by the latest reports; the said smartphone might feature Apple’s Smart Connector for wireless charging and other accessories such as VR/AR headsets. If this is true, this would just be a cherry on the top of the already anticipated smartphone. But, on the downside, as per Apple analyst Brian White, even if Apple showcases the phone in September, shipping might be delayed by several weeks, which is not great news for people who have been eagerly waiting to grab their iPhone 8 for several months now.

iPhone 8 will come with a curved display along with an all glass bezel-less design.

The new feature of wireless charging is supposed to be a move by Apple to commemorate the tenth anniversary of iPhone. The Smart Connector which was first introduced in the 12.9-inch iPad Pro provides both data and power for external accessories and also connects to them via magnets. It is also being speculated that new peripherals for iPhone 8 could be introduced by Apple this year, which includes a VR headset or smart glasses which would give users an augmented reality experience. Besides, as per latest reports, AirPlay and new Apple TV hardware will play a pivotal role in Apple’s AR/VR vision.

The all new design with iPhone 8 will come with a curved display along with an all glass bezel-less design in contrast to Apple’s trademark physical home button. Industry rumors also refer to the model’s 3D sensing display, stainless steel body, apart from better dust and water resistant ability.  iPhone 8 will also come with LG’s Innotek dual lens cameras at the rear, according to India Today.

Furthermore, according to Chinese-language Economic Daily News, iPhone 8 might launch during October or November 2017 due to ‘technical issues’ faced by suppliers related to the display lamination process and problems in integrating the 3D sensing front camera system.
