Samsung Galaxy On5 2017 Gets TENAA Certification

The handset has been spotted on TENAA (a telecommunication certification website in China) after getting a WiFi certification from the WiFi Alliance (WFA). The smartphone is the successor of last year’s On5 2016. For Indian residents, the handset was launched under the name Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime.

Before appearing on TENAA, the handset had been spotted on WiFi listing under the model number SM-G5528, reports The Mobile Indian. The handset appears with the same model number on the TENAA website. The listing seems to suggest the following features for the Samsung Galaxy On5 2017 – 5.0 inch HD display with 720 pixels by 1280 pixels resolution, 1.4 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and some three variants of the handset.

The smartphone will bear 6GB/32GB/64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a micro-SD card. On the front of the camera, the Galaxy On5 2017 offers a 13-megapixel rear camera that comes with a LED flash, a 5-megapixel front camera for taking selfies. Although not mentioned in the listing but there are rumors that the front home button might come with a fingerprint sensor integrated into it.

The handset runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system with Gionee’s Amigo UI on top of it and it’s backed by a 2,600 mAh battery. We are not sure whether it’s removable or non-removable. The piece of device offers connectivity options like Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, SIM, 4G-LTE with VoLTE, GPS/A-GPS and a micro USB 2.0 port.

According to the listing, the handset comes in Gold color option. It’s 142.8 mm in height, 69.5 mm in width, 8.1 mm thin and it weighs 143 grams. The listing also reveals that the Galaxy On5 2017 will sport Gravity sensor and distance sensor. As of now, we have no information regarding when the handset might be launched or even the price of the handset.
