A slew of new leaks has revealed the specs and features of the new Xiaomi 5X, which had surfaced in a new teaser poster only recently. The new device may be one of the first brands to be launched by a new sub-brand of Xiaomi. Also, if the reports are correct, the Xiaomi 5X may arrive in two variants: standard and premium. The smartphone is the same one that was known earlier as the Xiaomi X1.
This report by GizmoChina also states that a clearer poster of the new Xiaomi device, the one you see just below, shows off a much clearer image of the 5X. The specs can also be noticed on the bottom of the poster, and the standout features of the standard version are the powerful and resourceful Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, 4GB of RAM, as well as a neat 5.5-inch display which may well have full HD display capacity.
Xiaomi 5X Specs and Features
The higher-end or the more premium version of the Xiaomi 5X may carry the more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, as well as 6GB of RAM. A native storage capacity of 64GB is to be expected as well. A price tag of 1,999 Yuan, which is roughly equivalent to $295, has also been attached to the more premium version.
It is likely that the high-end version of the Xiaomi 5X will carry a 12-megapixel dual camera system which will also boast the Sony IMX386 sensor besides a Samsung S5k3m3 sensor. A 16-megapixel front snapper will also enable splendid selfies and video calling features. Although it cannot be confirmed as of now, the new Xiaomi 5X may arrive with the Android 7.1.1 Nougat overlaid with Xiaomi’s proprietary MIUI 9 OS.
The standard Xiaomi 5X edition, on the other hand, will have the same rear and front snapper and may come with a front-mounted fingerprint reader. Whether the more premium version comes with the same 5.5-inch display or a larger one is still unknown.
Chinese celebrity Kris Wu has been spotted on the poster. Wu is continuing his association with the Chinese smartphone giant. Although we cannot confirm it as of now, the new Xiaomi device is rumored to launch on July 26. Watch this space for more details on the Xiaomi 5X.
