Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ Now Available In Orchid Gray Color Variant In India

On Wednesday, Samsung India launched a new color variant of its latest flagship smartphone – Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+. Priced at Rs. 57,900 and Rs. 64,900 respectively, the new color addition really is an unconventional touch by Samsung.

The new Orchid Grey color variant of Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ mixes a dash of purple with gray to give a unique look to the device.

The announcement was made by Asim Warsi, who serves as the Senior Vice-President of the Mobile Business for Samsung India. He stated that it would further fuel the unprecedented response to the devices and would help its users make a style statement that would set themselves apart from others.

Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, both of which were launched in April this year, were initially available in Maple Gold and Midnight Black color variants. Galaxy S8+ was additionally made available in Coral Blue color too. Last month a new variant of Galaxy S8+ was introduced with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. However, it was available in Midnight color only.

The South Korean multinational conglomerate also introduced a Rose Pink color variant of Galaxy s8+ in Taiwan. However, this variant is yet to get launched for the Indian market.

For the Taiwanese market, the Maple Gold, Coral Blue, and Orchid Grey color variants have been rebranded as Quicksand Gold, Ice Lake Blue, and Smoked Purple Grey respectively, as per NDTV Gadget 360 Degrees.

Both the devices feature a 12-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel secondary camera and they run on Android 7.0 Nougat. While Galaxy S8 is backed by a 3,000mAh battery, the Galaxy S8+ is backed by a 3,500mAh battery. The former has a 5.8-inch Quad HD Infinity display and the later has a 6.2-inch Quad HD display. Their connectivity options include GLONASS, USB Type-C, 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS and Bluetooth 5.0.
