Coolpad had finally announced that their latest offering will be available in India. We had earlier covered the device and had expected that the India launch would be on August 20. In May, when the device was unveiled, we had reported how the battery and the camera features would be the highlight of the new device. Now, with the launch of the device in India and the release date confirmed, we can speak about the Coolpad Cool Play 6 in more detail.
Coolpad Cool Play 6 Specs and Features
The Coolpad Cool Play 6 is a super device given its mid-to-budget range price tag. The shape and the design are essentially a metal unibody and on board is a 5.5-inch Full HD in-cell display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Keeping the heart of this Coolpad device beating is the quality octa-core Snapdragon 653 processor (with 4 ARM Cortex A72 cores clocked at 1.95GHz ARM Cortex A72 and the remaining 4 A53 cores clocked at 1.44GHz), which, in turn, is paired with Adreno the 510 GPU.
The new smartphone has at its base the new Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system. Together with 6GB of RAM coupled with 64 GB of internal/native storage, and thanks to the expandable storage option via a microSD card, the Coolpad Cool Play 6 will make for a very neat device.
Coolpad Cool Play 6 Cameras and Optics
The new Cool Play 6 has 13-megapixel dual rear cameras which are armed with f/2.0 aperture, besides phase detection autofocus (or PDAF), besides a very handy rear dual tone LED flash. The front snapper comes with an 8-megapixel sensor and a f/2.2 aperture best suited for selfies plus video calling. The powerful 4000 mAh non-removable battery is said to offer up to 252 hours on standby and 9 hours of sustained internet browsing. The rear fingerprint sensor provides better security and is located just under the dual rear cameras.
At a price of Rs 14,999, the new Coolpad Cool Play 6 will be an Amazon-exclusive product and will start selling come September 4. Available colors are Gold and Black. The device will receive the Android 8.0 via OTA update come December this year.
