Chinese major Huawei’s next flagship offering, the Huawei Mate 10, is all set for a launch in Munich, Germany, on October 16. We had earlier informed you that the device would be launching soon. Huawei’s CEO Richard Yu has stated that he believes that the Mate 10 would give the premium Apple iPhone 8 a run for its money.
Now, we all know that the Apple iPhones normally launch every year in September. While there were reports that this year’s iPhone, the tenth-generation iPhone 8, would be delayed, we had informed you that it would launch on time as the A11 chipset had entered the mass production phase. While it would seem that the Huawei Mate 10 would launch in September, a Polish website, Tabletowo, has claimed that the Mate 10 would launch on October 16. The device will first launch in Europe and then come to China.
Huawei Mate 10 Specs and Features
For starters, the new Huawei Mate will 10 will be very pricey: around PLN 4,000 in Poland, or around $1100. However, the features and specs of the device are very impressive. The Huawei Mate 10 will boast of a bezel-less, full-screen 5.8-inch 2K display. What’s interesting is that the aspect ratio of this display is higher than the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus, Gizbot reports. The fingerprint scanner will be just below the display.
As far as the photography and optic features are concerned, there is a total of four cameras on this device and all four are excellent. The dual rear cameras are vertically aligned with two 34MP sensors and a LED flashlight. On the other hand, the front-facing dual camera setup will have two 16MP sensors. At the heart of the device is the in-house developed Kirin 970 processor. We believe that the Huawei Mate 10 will probably run on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. However, since it is shipping in October, it might also come with the Android 8.0 O running in tandem with Huawei’s EMUI skin.
A ‘Lite’ variant of the Huawei Mate 10 will also be released alongside for those users who will not be able to spend that much money. Tipped to be called the Huawei Mate 10 Lite, this device will come for PLN 1,999 (approximately $556). Obviously, this device will have slightly watered down specs as well.
