Samsung, the South Korean technological giant, has been in the news recently, and for all the right reasons. Now, it has unveiled a new model of Bluetooth headphones which will be super flexible and will also have support for Bixby, which is Samsung’s own AI-based digital assistant. Called U Flex Bluetooth headphones, the device has been listed on its website.
As far as the new U Flex headphones are concerned, it has a highly bendable design; Samsung has stated that it can be bent to up to 100 degrees. Also on board is a dedicated Bixby button which also has support for Samsung’s S Voice feature as well. One major drawback of the dedicated Bixby button is that it cannot be reworked.
The U Flex earphones feature two-way speakers that are equipped with 11mm woofers as well as 8mm tweeters. One of the most interesting features is the availability of Samsung’s proprietary Scalable Codec technology: you can use this new technology if your headphone is paired to a device which runs on Android 7.0 Nougat. The Scalable Codec technology will analyze and then filter out awry Wi-Fi signals and will also provide better Bluetooth connectivity. Taken together, this means much-improved sound and with optimized audio performance.
Also on the U Flex Bluetooth Headphones are other features like vibration on calls along with notification support. It will be able to provide you with up to 10 hours of battery life on a single charge. Samsung has stated that the U Flex will come equipped with all of the normally associated buttons, besides the traditional volume rockers. Also available will be a micro USB port on its side. Availability will be in color variants like blue, black, and ivory. We had earlier reported that the upcoming Note 8’s headphones may be Bixby-compatible. However, Samsung has not yet unveiled the pricing strategy for the new U Flex Bluetooth Headphones.
