The latest reports point to a growing list of specs and features aboard the new Samsung Galaxy S9. For example, similar to the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, the new Samsung Galaxy S9 will also have 4GB of RAM. Other reports suggest that the upcoming device will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, something that we had reported earlier. In fact, the next flagship smartphone will gain all of the initial batches of the SD 845 chipsets.
According to a report by XDA Developers, the new Samsung Galaxy S9 has a model number of SM-G960. Samsung has stuck to the 4GB of RAM on its flagship phones since last year when the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge devices released. We already know that the new range of Galaxy flagship devices will have the same screen sizes as that of the devices released last year.
There are contrary news reports as well. Some publications suggest that half of all of the Samsung Galaxy S9 devices will come with the Exynos 9810 chipsets, something we had reported earlier. XDA Developers has also suggested that the new devices will start with a base variant which will have 64GB of internal or native storage.
As far as other features are concerned, we expect a modular design aboard the new S range of flagship devices. In all likelihood, the new models will feature an Infinity Display panel capable of producing an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. Also expected is a QHD+ resolution of 2,960 x 1,440 pixels.
As far as the latest reports are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy S9 could come with dual rear cameras, making them the first Samsung S-series flagships to have this particular feature. Besides, we expect that the Galaxy S9 device will likely be the first device from Samsung to have the in-screen fingerprint scanner, which will also aid in better security.
