Taiwanese consumer electronics entity, HTC, brought its HTC U Play in the month of February with a price tag of Rs. 39,990. Marking a fresh start for the company, the device turned out to be an outstanding approach in terms of design and aesthetics. Given that we have almost reached this year’s end, to continue the lineup, HTC is likely to launch another device dubbed the HTC U Play 2, somewhere next year. Now, if we go by the recent reports, the device has been allegedly spotted on the benchmarking site, Geekbench.
According to the report via Slashleaks, the alleged HTC U Play 2 device is tipped to get spotted on Geekbench with a model number HTC X2-HT. If the benchmarking listing is considered, there are several features which might get implemented with the alleged HTC U Play 2.
According to the database, the alleged HTC U Play 2 with model number X2-HT is believed to house a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 660 SoC. HTC, with its previous generation of U Play, had incorporated the Helio P10 SoC, which in turn hinted fans that the upcoming device will have a significantly upgraded processor. Also, the alleged HTC U Play 2 is expected to come with a 4GB RAM (unlike the previous model which featured 3GB RAM).
On the software front, the HTC U Play 2 is expected to run the latest Android 8.0 Oreo update out of the box. Also, one may expect the smartphone to be topped with HTC Sense, reports Gizbot. Earlier we have seen the HTC U Play device to debut with Sense Companion feature which uses the artificial intelligence technology in order to learn and adapt daily activities.
Overall, aside from these specs, the Geekbench listing doesn’t shed lights on further aspects of this coming device. As of now, we are waiting for more updates which we will likely get in the near future. Until there are more details on the second generation U Play device, one may stay tuned to us.
