At the press event on December 7, the Beijing smartphone giant is set to launch two of its hotly-awaited device- the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus. And now, with the manual leak of the devices, we have got hands on some of the most significant features to be incorporated in the upcoming Xiaomi devices. First and foremost, the leak reveals that Redmi 5 will feature a hybrid Dual-SIM configuration to deliver fans the capability of using dual SIMs or even one SIM and one microSD card. The Redmi 5’s leaked manual also indicates that the phone will be equipped with three circular sensors on top of the bezel.
According to a Weibo post, both Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus has been teased to run the Xiaomi’s propitiatory MIUI 9 out of the box. Based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system, the MIUI 9 is expected to get a new update shortly. This is not the end of what the news claims about both Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus. The latest report also states that both the smartphone will be available for purchase from December 12. Moreover, the company has been preparing a lot of stock in order to ensure more people can purchase the handsets.
In terms of pricing, the reports indicate that Redmi 5 with 2GB RAM will come with a price tag of 699 (approx. $106) Yuan. On contrary, the 3GB RAM model will cost 999 Yuan (approx. $151). The premium Redmi 5 Plus for the 3GB RAM model will be available to customers at 999 Yuan (approx. $151). Whereas, the 4GB RAM variant will cost 1,299 Yuan (approx. $196).
From the leaks so far, both Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus will debut with 18:9 Full-Screen Display. While the Redmi 5 model will boast a 5.7-inch HD+ with a screen resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels, the Redmi 5 Plus will a 5.99-inch screen with a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. Underneath, the Redmi 5 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor (the first chipset in the Snapdragon 400 series), the Redmi 5 Plus will house the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor (alike to Redmi Note 4).
