Unnamed Microsoft Surface Foldable Phone Appears, Patent Suggests

American multinational technology company, Microsoft (headquartered in Redmond, Washington), never shared any confirmed news on the existence of a new mobile device in the recent past. However, if the latest report is to be considered, an alleged surface phone that popped online gives us a cue on the company which is apparently developing a phone with a hinge and folding displays.

The news arrived in a few patent so far which has been reported by Gizbot. Nevertheless, despite partially confirming that Microsoft is focussing on this project quite seriously, the filing of the patent does not mean that the company will launch the device anytime soon. The Redmond-based software giant has explained why the 90’s foldable phones could be the imminent future of the smartphone industry. While true is the fact that foldable phone offers an extended display space, reducing the bezels also extends the size of the screen. But until and unless purchasing huge smartphones is taxing for users, a folding design is the best option!

Microsoft Apparently Working on a Foldable Surface Phone

Furthermore, Microsoft patent claims, “Along with these enhanced capabilities has come a demand for larger displays to provide a richer user experience. Mobile phone displays have increased in size to the point where they can now consume almost the entire viewing surface of a phone. To increase the size of displays any further would require an increase in the size of the phones themselves. This is not desirable, as users want their mobile phone to fit comfortably in their hand or in a shirt or pants pocket.”

From the previous reports that surfaced online, an alleged Surface Phone has come to the fore which claims to feature a so-called self-regulating hinge. The hinge will provide two displays become one very seamlessly and will also enable the Surface Phone to be an enhanced version of smartphones.

While the news that we have come up is absolutely true, one may take this with a grain of salt as no other confirmation has been provided by the company. For further information, one may share this space with us as we will bring further upgrades in the near future.
