Vodafone Extends iRoamFREE Service to Thailand and New Zealand: Details

Vodafone, the British telecom giant, has decided to extend its iRoamFree roaming service to two more countries: Thailand and New Zealand. This service is aimed primarily at users who frequently travel abroad and who would like to pay less roaming services. In this new scheme, the roaming is now free in these two new countries.

Vodafone has been competing in the Indian market with some very competitive plans for its users. This new scheme too is no exception. The Vodafone i-RoamFREE is currently operational in 20 countries which also includes multiple popular destinations like the UAE, the USA, the UK, Singapore, and Malaysia.

Under this roaming scheme, for those on a short trip, you will need to spend Rs 5000 for 28 days (a sum which boils down to is effectively Rs 180 per day) to a more humongous Rs. 500 for 24 Hours usage. The scheme is available for both Vodafone prepaid and postpaid consumers. In case you wish to activate this scheme, you can always activate it via the My Vodafone App.

Vodafone has recently introduced the Vodafone i-RoamFREE scheme for those customers who are traveling to Europe. Besides Europe, travelers can now also use the unlimited calling and Data usage in countries like the USA, UAE, Singapore& Malaysia with the very same pack.

Avneesh Khosla, who is the Associate Director of Consumer Business at Vodafone India, was quoted by GizBot, saying, “Vodafone customers have had a delightful experience with our Vodafone i-RoamFREE plans. This holiday season, we wanted to further add to the festivities that our travelers are looking forward to. We are delighted to add two popular destinations to the I-RoamFREE proposition – Thailand & New Zealand, strengthening our unlimited offering to 20 countries.”

It has to be seen how effective Vodafone is at attracting customers to itself with this new service. It is currently the second largest telco in India.
