Xiaomi Redmi 5A With 3GB RAM Starts Offline Sales at Rs 7,499

Xiaomi is a company which never ceases to amaze. Days after its first launch in India, an event which we had covered, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A has been put up for offline sales. The device has been so popular that the first flash sale, that was held on 8 December, went out of stock within minutes. Now that the device has come to offline stores as well, it is believed that Xiaomi, already the world’s third-largest supplier of mobile devices, will expand its footprint in India.

The report was first made public by this source. Enthusiasts will know that upon launch, the device had two variants: one with 2GB RAM plus 16GB of internal storage which was priced at Rs 4,999 while the slightly more premium 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage variant was priced at Rs 6,999. The Xiaomi Redmi 5A was initially available on Flipkart, the online shopping site. Now that the Redmi 5A 3GB is selling offline at Rs 7,499, it is still higher by Rs 500 when compared to its online sibling.

Should you buy the Xiaomi Redmi 5A 3GB variant? We believe you should. Onboard this device is a 5-inch HD display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution while a pixel density of 296ppi provides sharper display output. Underneath the phone is a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor that works in tandem with the Adreno 308 GPU.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5A now available offline

Like we mentioned earlier, the variants come with 2GB/3GB of RAM besides 16GB/32GB of internal storage, both of which are expandable storage to up to 128GB via the microSD card option. The Redmi 5A derives its juice from the very decent 3,000 mAh battery that, Xiaomi claims, is capable of offering 8 days of standby time. The Redmi 5A will run on the Android Nougat operating system which is also wrapped under the proprietary MIUI 9. Stay tuned for further updates.
