The entry-level ‘Desh Ka Smartphone’, Xiaomi Redmi 5A, was initially launched in India on December 30. Now with all plausible news, the same smartphone debuts in India via Flipkart, and this is the very initial time that Indian fans get hold of the Redmi 5A smartphone via the online store: Flipkart. But not just Flipkart, the company has made its Redmi 5A smartphone available via Mi.com as well. And to add more, one may also get the device via Mi Home stores (already available from 12 PM today).
Nevertheless, Xiaomi will also bring Redmi 5A via the other offline retail partners of the company all across the country. The Xiaomi Redmi 5A will be available in three different color variants- Rose Gold, Dark Grey, and Gold. The launch offers of Redmi 5A include 5 million units of the base variant alongside 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. This will likely be available at a discounted price point of Rs. 1000, reports Gizbot.
Earlier we have seen how Xioami and Reliance Jio collaborated with each other and offered an additional cashback of Rs. 1000 for all the first 5 million Redmi 5A buyers. Also, the users will receive a 12-month free subscription to Hungama Music.
In terms of key specs, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A will feature a 5-inch HD display with a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels. Housing the device, there’s a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC clocked at 1.4GHz. It will be paired with 2GB or 3GB of RAM. On the optics front, the Redmi 5A will come with a 13-megapixel rear camera with an aperture of f/2.2. Also, there’ll be PDAF and LED flash. Up front, there’s a 5-megapixel camera with a f/2.0 aperture.
Connectivity options also include Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Infrared, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and so on. The smartphone weighs 137 grams and runs MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat.
