Xiaomi Redmi 5A Buyers will Receive Rs 1,000 Cashback from Reliance Jio

If the latest report is anything to go by, Indian fans will get Rs 1,000 cashback on purchasing the ‘Desh ka Smartphone’ touted as the Xiaomi Redmi 5A. It has been just a day since the company brought the entry-level smartphone for the masses in India. The Beijing tech entity has initially launched the device back in the Chinese markets.

Now with the device being official in India, the Chinese tech giant, Xiaomi, has announced a discount of Rs. 1,000 for the initial 5 million Redmi 5A buyers. This means that the price tag has come down to Rs. 4,999 for the early buyers. To add the cherry on the cake, users can get one more discount on this ‘Desh Ka Smartphone’. Thanks to the partnership between the Xiaomi and Reliance Jio, due to which Xiaomi Redmi 5A‘s 2GB RAM + 16GB storage is priced at Rs 3,999. On contrary, the other 3GB/32GB variant will effectively cost users Rs 5,999 post the cashback, reports Money Control.

Xiaomi India’s Managing Director, Mr. Manu Kumar Jain revealed the Jio cashback offer after the launch of Redmi 5A on Thursday, “All #Redmi5A users now avail an additional cashback of Rs. 1,000 cashback through @reliancejio ‘Better Together Offer’![sic],” reports NDTV Gadget360. Under the new offer, users going for the purchase will have to continue to recharge their accounts with Rs. 199 pack for 12 months in order to get the cashback. Also, there’s an inclusion of 28GB of 4G data (with a limit of a 1GB), unlimited STD and local calls, unlimited SMS for 28 days.

To recall, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels. Powering the device, there’s a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425. The chipset is paired with 2GB of RAM and an internal storage of 16GB, expandable up to 128GB by using a microSD card slot. On the optics front, the device is occupied with a 13-megapixel rear camera and f/2.2 aperture. Up front, there’s a 5-megapixel snapper. Fueling Xiaomi Redmi 5A, there’s a nonremovable battery of 3,000mAh capacity (claims to offer 8 days of battery life). On the software front, Xiaomi Redmi 5A runs the MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat.
