Oppo A83 Indian Sales to Debut on January 20: Face Unlock Feature Included

Oppo, the Chinese major, has not been silent in the recent months; it has consistently gone out looking for challenges. Last year, three new Oppo smartphones under the F5 range had been launched. These devices all boasted of the new-fangled full-screen display design. Joining these devices will now be the Oppo A83, which will have the Face Unlock feature, the full-screen design, and a price tag of Rs 13,990. This device was originally launched in the home country of China in December 2017.

Given that the price tag is relatively modest and the design details attractive, we believe that this phone will be a decent rival to the likes of the Xiaomi Mi A1. We had reported how the Oppo A83 would be launched on the 17 of January. It now seems that we are looking at a release date slightly later than that.

The price tag comes to us via a report in PhoneRadar. As of now, while we do know that the device will be launched on the 20 of January, we are yet to have an idea about the release date of the device.

The new Oppo A83

As far as the features and specs are concerned, it will have a metal unibody design. The Oppo A83 will also boast 5.7-inch IPS display that also has an HD+ screen resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels besides the 18:9 aspect ratio. The Oppo A83 boasts an octa-core 2.5GHz MediaTek Helio P23 processor which will be paired with 4GB RAM and 32GB of default storage space. The later is further expandable to 128GB thanks to a microSD card.

Like all the Oppo devices, the Oppo A83 will also have great photographic and imaging facilities. Onboard is a 13MP rear camera which has a LED flash accompanied by an 8MP selfie camera out front. The battery capacity is a decent 3180mAh which means that it might last one whole day on just a single charge. Other facilities include 4G VoLTE, dual-SIM support, and GPS and Bluetooth 4.2. There is also a 3.5mm jack.
