OPPO has launched another affordable smartphone in the Chinese market, dubbed the OPPO A83. The smartphone rolled out with a brand new facial recognition technology and the best part is, it sports a 5.7-inch 18:9 display. For the essentials of this particular handset, one may check below.

OPPO A83 Key Specs and Features

The OPPO A83 is a dual SIM (GSM+GSM) smartphone which runs the Color OS 3.2-based on top of the Android 7.1 Nougat operating system. Underneath the hood, the A83 device is powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz. The chipset is coupled with 4GB of RAM and features an inbuilt storage of 32GB capacity. It is further expandable up to 256GB by using a microSD card slot.

OPPO A83 features a 5.7-inch HD+ LCD display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a screen resolution of 720×1440 pixels. On the optics front, the device comes with a 13-megapixel sensor along with an LED flash. The selfie shooter sports an 8-megapixel front camera for video calling/recording and better selfies.

In terms of connectivity, this OPPO phone comes with a wide range of options including 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 /b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, Micro-USB, Wi-Fi Direct, and a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board include the accelerometer, compass, and proximity sensor. OPPO A83 measures 150.5×73.1×7.7mm and weighs 143 grams. Fueling the device, there’s 3090mAh battery.

OPPO A83 Price and Availability

OPPO has incorporated a new facial recognition technology which the company claims that the A83 device will be capable of unlocking the phone within 0.18 seconds just by using 128 unique feature points on the face of the customer. As per pricing, the smartphone has been launched in China at CNY 1,399 (roughly Rs. 13,700) and will go on sale from December 29. Oppo A83 is available in two color variants- Champagne and Black.
