Vivo has already stated that it will start the pre-orders of the Vivo X20 Plus UD from today. We had reported how the company was officially announced ahead of the scheduled date of launch. Initially, the device was set for a launch on January 25. Now, we know the price and availability details of the device which has the world’s first on-screen fingerprint sensor.
Vivo, which is a Chinese manufacturing giant, had initially showcased the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018. This is the first such device and it will go on sale soon, one expects.
As of now, the new Vivo X20 Plus UD with the screen in-display fingerprint sensor has only been released in China. The new smartphone has also been priced at RMB 3,598 (which is approximately Rs. 36,091) and the preorders start from today.
As far as the design language is concerned, it boasts a similar design language and specifications as does the now familiar Vivo X20 Plus. The primary difference is the under display scanner, which is the first time that the technology has been implemented and this is also where Vivo has beaten Samsung and Apple. The Vivo X20 Plus UD will now use the in-display fingerprint scanner, something which is called ‘Clear ID’ from Synaptics. The company, which has devised the scanner, has said that the scanner sends beams of light through its OLED panel, and then it accurately reads and interprets the fingerprint to verify the identity of the user. The sensor is also said to be placed between the OLED display and the mainboard.
