The Redmi 5 has finally received the third variant in the Chinese market with a whopping RAM of 4GB. The Xiaomi Redmi 5 4GB RAM Variant has been listed on the official store of Xioami. Previously, the smartphone giant launched the Redmi 5 with 2GB RAM and 3GB RAM options. Now the new 4GB RAM option has been made available in China with CNY 200 (roughly Rs. 2,000) premium, with a price tag of CNY 1,099 (roughly Rs. 11,000).
The 4GB RAM variant of the device apparently comes with no other specification upgrades except the RAM option. As per the internal storage, it comes with an inbuilt storage of 32GB capacity. As per availability, the Xiaomi‘s Redmi 5 4GB RAM Variant comes in four color variants: Black, Rose Gold, Light Blue, and Gold.
To recall, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 features a 5.7-inch HD+ display with a screen resolution of 720×1440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The device runs the Android Nougat operating system with based on MIUI 9 on top. Powering the device, there’s an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC, which is paired with 2/ 3/ 4GB of RAM and 16/ 32GB of native storage, reports NDTV Gadget360.
On the optics front, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 comes with a 12-megapixel rear camera with flash. Alongside it also features an aperture of the f/2.2 lens, PDAF, and more. Up front, there’s a 5-megapixel camera sensor along with Beautify 3.0 feature in order to deliver enhanced portraits.
On the rear panel, there’s the placement of the fingerprint reader right below the camera module. Besides the Bluetooth 4.2, there are other connectivity options such as A-GPS, a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack, micro-USB, so on and so forth. Sensors onboard also include the ambient light sensor, the accelerometer, proximity sensor, and gyroscope.
Powering the Xiaomi Redmi 5, there’s a 3300mAh battery underneath. The phone measures 151.8 x 72.8 x 7.7 mm (which is approx. 5.98 x 2.87 x 0.30 in) and weighs about 157 g (5.54 oz).
