First Look at OnePlus 6 Indicates Wooden Back Panel and 3.5mm Headphone Jack among Other Features

After the recent slew of smartphone launches from various manufacturers like Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola, Vivo and Oppo, the hype is building up for the launch of the next installment in the OnePlus lineup of handsets. The upcoming OnePlus 6 has been a subject of speculations for a long time now with a number of leaks appearing online revealing many features of the new handset. While we are still waiting for a word from the Chinese company about the official release date, a newly leaked render has appeared online revealing some features and the actual design of the handset.

The latest leak comes from renowned leakster Evan Blass, who has posted an image of the back panel of the alleged OnePlus 6 smartphone on his twitter account. Going by the image, it can be confirmed that the Chinese company is upgrading its upcoming flagship device to a new level, as far as the design is concerned.

The leaked image shows a wooden textured back panel with a fingerprint sensor just above the company’s logo on the rear side. Just above the sensor, a vertically aligned dual camera module can also be clearly seen accompanied by an LED flash. This looks like a completely revamped design because all other OnePlus handsets released till date feature the camera module on the top left corner of the back panel. Apart from that, the leaked image also reveals the presence of a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB Type-C port and a speaker grille on the bottom edge of the handset. The volume rocker key can also be partly seen on the side of the handset.

Evan Blass has previously leaked quite a few renders of other smartphones and going by his track record so far, this leak could very well serve as the first look of the upcoming OnePlus 6 handset. But he has only leaked the image of the back panel so far and it would be interesting to see how the front panel of the device has been designed. Going by past rumors, the smartphone is likely to feature an edge to edge display screen with a notch towards the lower side. It may also sport an aspect ratio of 19:9 with full HD resolution display.
