Samsung’s Galaxy A3, Galaxy J1 and Galaxy J3 Won’t Get Security Updates: Reports

The South Korean tech conglomerate has very recently come up with a couple of changes in the Android security update page. And if at all one is eager to go by the latest report, Samsung has removed a couple of Galaxy series smartphones from the same Android security update list.

According to what the new updated Android security list indicates, the devices that aren’t to be receiving any security update in future or will receive monthly or quarterly security updates are the Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016), Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) 3, and Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016).

The new updated Android security list has now come up with a couple of devices that are to be receiving the security update. And this reportedly includes the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) which is believed to get a monthly update, and three devices will get the quarterly update. They are the Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018), the Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018), and the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2.

To recall, the Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016) has a 4.7 inches Capacitive Touchscreen display and supports a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. Onboard is an octa-core Cortex-A53 clocked at 1.6GHz. There’s 6GB of RAM and an expandable storage of 256GB is offered with the native 16GB default memory.

The Samsung Galaxy J1, on the other hand, comes with a 4.5 inches Capacitive Touchscreen display that gives the support for 480 x 800 pixels screen resolution. Underneath is a Quad Core processor that is clocked at 1.3 GHz, The 8 GB storage, can be expanded up to 128 GB with a microSD Card slot. And RAM wise, there’s a 1 GB RAM default memory capacity.

Finally, there’s the Samsung Galaxy J3, which comes with a 5.0 inches Capacitive Touchscreen display and offers a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. This phone makes use of the Quad Core, 1.5 GHz, which is coupled with Mali-400 MP2 GPU, The storage is further expandable to 128 GB with a Card slot.
