Google Home and Google Home Mini Smart Speakers to Launch in India Today

The new Google Home Mini has been leaked before launch

As reported by us earlier, Google is all set to launch its latest smart speakers in India today. Dubbed as Google Home and Google Home Mini, both the speakers can be seamlessly paired with other apps of Google for streaming music and other tasks. While the larger Google Home may come with a price tag of Rs 10,000, the smaller Google Home Mini is expected to launch with a price tag of Rs 4,000.

The Home and Home Mini can be paired with other apps of Google like Google Play music to stream music seamlessly through the smart speakers. Google has also recently updated the Google Play music service for the Indian audience with a huge collection of Bollywood retro classics and current hits for a better user experience.

Google is hosting a launch event in New Delhi today to launch the smart speakers. As far as the availability is concerned, the smart speakers will be available exclusively through Flipkart in India, which has already posted a teaser on its web portal. Apart from that, the devices will also be available on offline retail outlets like Chroma along with bundled offers from some telecom companies like Reliance Jio and Airtel.

The Google Home smart speakers will come into direct competition with Amazon Echo speakers once it gets launched. Amazon currently sells Echo and Echo Dot smart speakers in India which comes with similar facilities like Google Home. Amazon also has a larger variant dubbed as Echo Plus that offers better sound quality and is available at a price of Rs 14,999. Google also has a larger variant of its Home speaker called Google Home Max that may be launched later in India to compete with Amazon Echo Plus.

The main highlight of Google Home smart speakers is the presence of Google Assistant. This will enable users to interact with the speakers using voice commands to perform certain tasks like playing music or a voice search on Google.
