Airtel has reportedly revised its Rs 499 postpaid plan to offer more data and take on its competitors. The Rs 499 plan falls under Airtel’s “Best Selling Postpaid Plans” under MyPlan Infinity that also has a slew of other offerings like Rs 399, Rs 649, Rs 799 and Rs 1,199 postpaid plans. It may be recalled that Airtel had revised its Rs 649 plan last week to offer 90GB of data to the subscribers.
Now, under the revamped Rs 499 postpaid plan, it is offering 75GB of data to its subscribers. Previously the plan used to offer only 40GB of 3G/4G data with a validity of 28 days. In comparison, Reliance Jio currently has only one postpaid plan of Rs 199 that offers 25GB of data to the users.
The revamped Rs 499 postpaid plan also offers unlimited local/STD and roaming calls to any network in the country along with 100 SMS messages per day without any FUP limits as reported by Telecom Talk. The postpaid plan also comes with a data rollover facility of a maximum of 500GB which means any unused data of the previous month will get rolled over to the next month.
Additionally, the Rs 499 postpaid plan also comes with some other benefits like a free one-year subscription to Amazon Prime, Wynk TV subscription, access to Airtel Live TV and free accidental damage protection for a year.
As of now, the revamped plan is only available in some select circles across the country with a wider rollout expected to happen soon. Airtel may also revamp some of its other postpaid plans soon.
Notably, Vodafone had also revamped some of its Red postpaid plans a couple of weeks ago ranging between Rs 399 and Rs 2,999. The plans now offer up to 300GB of data along with other benefits like Netflix and Amazon Prime subscription and unlimited calling benefits without any FUP limits.
