Rumors were doing the rounds since the last week that the Nokia 5.1 Plus which is also known as Nokia X5 may get unveiled soon. Now HMD Global, the official licensee of Nokia smartphones have teased the launch of the Nokia X5 on July 11. The launch is set to take place at 8 pm China time (5.30pm IST). The development comes in the form of a teaser that reveals that the upcoming installment in the Nokia X series will be unveiled on July 11. The global variant of the device will be called Nokia 5.1 Plus.
According to a post from the official Nokia account on Weibo, a new device in the Nokia X series will be unveiled in China on July 11. Last week, a poster of the alleged device was also spotted on the Chinese search engine Baidu. The smartphone is likely to come with a price tag of CYN 799 for the 32GB variant CYN 999 for the 64GB variant. As far as the design elements are concerned, the Nokia X5 will feature a bezel-less display with a notch. It is likely to feature a dual rear camera setup with a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel.
Talking about the specifications, earlier reports had suggested that the Nokia x5 will feature a 5.86-inch full HD+ display with a resolution of 720 X 1520 pixels and 19;9 aspect ratio. It will be powered by a MediaTek P series processor or a Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core chipset coupled with 3GB/4GB/6GB of RAM and 32GB/ 64GB of inbuilt storage.
On the optics front, the Nokia X5 may feature a dual rear camera setup with a 13-megapixel primary sensor. The specification of the secondary sensor is still unknown. On the front, it will feature an 8-megapixel sensor for taking selfies and video calling. Connectivity options may include 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB type C-port. It is likely to be fueled by a 3,000mAh battery.
