Airtel Revises its Rs 399 Postpaid Plan to Offer 20GB Additional Data

India’s leading telecom operator Airtel has revised its Rs 399 postpaid plan to offer 20GB of additional data to the subscribers for a year. This plan after the revision takes on the Rs 399 postpaid plan of Vodafone that offers 40GB of data per month to its subscribers. Alongside the data benefits, both Airtel and Vodafone offer unlimited local/STD and roaming call benefits to the subscribers. Notably, Vodafone also provides a free one-year subscription to Amazon Prime while Airtel only offers a free subscription to Wynk Music. In comparison, Reliance Jio has a Rs 199 postpaid plan that offers 25GB of data along with unlimited local/STD and roaming call benefits and 100SMS messages per day.

The existing Rs 399 postpaid plan from Airtel now offers additional 20GB of data for a year. This data is available separately from the existing 20GB of data allotted to the users per month with a rollover facility of maximum 200GB. The plan also offers unlimited voice calling benefits without any FUP limit and 100SMS messages per day for the entire billing cycle. Airtel customers can avail the plan by visiting the official website or from the My Airtel app.

While the terms for the additional 20GB data benefit is not available on the official Airtel website, a customer care executive has confirmed the folks at Gadgets360 that the additional data is available only to new subscribers and customers who migrate from a prepaid account in any telecom circles of the country. This implies that the additional data benefits are not available to the existing customers and they will continue to get 20GB of data per month which exists now. The customer care executive of Airtel also said that the additional 20GB of data allotted to new users will be added each month, taking the total quota available for the entire year to 240GB.

Now it remains to be seen, how the other leading operators in the country like Reliance Jio and Vodafone react to this move by Airtel to lure new customers.
