Gamescom 2018: Nvidia RTX 2070, 2080, 2080 Ti Announced Starting at Rs 35,000

At the Gamescon 2018, currently being held in Germany, Nvidia has announced its next-generation graphics cards with a new architecture. The company has launched three graphics cards as of now under its RTX 2000 series. The new cards named as Nvidia RTX 2070, 2080 and the 2080 Ti will replace last year’s Nvidia GTX 1070, 1080, and 1080 Ti lineup respectively.

Coming to the price and availability of these three graphics cards, the Nvidia RTX 2070 comes with a price tag of $499 9Rs 35,000 approximately) and the availability has not been announced yet. The Nvidia RTX 2080 costs $699 (Rs 49,000 approximately) and will be available from September 2018. Finally, the Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti costs $999 (Rs 70,000 approximately) and will be available in the market from September 2018.

Talking about the features of these new graphics cards, the Nvidia RTX 2070, 2080 and 2080 Ti becomes the first set of graphics cards to be based on Turning architecture. These three cards now support real-time ray tracing to provide a better rendering and lighting technique than graphics cards of the previous generation.

Notably, Ray Tracing technology was first used in the film industry to create visual effects and requires a higher power of computational ability for its proper functioning. With the modernization of technology, Nvidia has managed to implement this technology to its latest range of graphics cards. Apart from this new technology, these cards also come with programmable shaders and artificial intelligence to improve the overall graphical rendering and computing performance of these cards.

As of now, no information is available about the launch of these cards in India. However, these cards will be available in the US starting from September 2018. The company is likely to launch these cards in India at the same time. As far as the price is concerned, these graphics cards are likely to cost more in India.
