Nokia 6.1 Plus Launch in India May Be Close, Reveals Teaser

Nokia 6.1 Plus which is the global variant of the Nokia X6 was launched last month. Now, as per the current reports, the smartphone may be on its way to India soon. The Android One smartphone was launched in Hong Kong last month with a price tag of HKD 2,288 (Rs 20,000 approximately). Now HMD Global, the licensee of Nokia smartphones has released a teaser which hints that the next destination of the smartphone could be India. The teaser urges Nokia fans to participate in a contest to join the exclusive launch event to be held in the country. Although there has been no confirmation about which smartphone will be launched, the Nokia 6.1 Plus is expected as the support page has already gone live a few weeks ago. Alongside the Nokia 6.1 Plus, the company may also launch the Nokia 5.1 Plus and Nokia 2.1.

“All the Nokia fans out there tell us your favourite Nokia smartphone experience and stand a chance to witness the next exclusive launch event,” the company said in a tweet from its official Nokia India handle on Wednesday. The tweet also carries a GIF that urges all Nokia fans in the country to join the launch event. However, it did not reveal what we can expect from the event.

To recall the specifications briefly, The Nokia 6.1 Plus is identical to the Nokia X6 which was launched in China in May. The phone features a 5.8-inch full HD+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top and 19:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage which is further upgradable with a micro-SD card. On the optics front, the smartphone features a dual rear camera module with a 16-megapixel primary and 5-megapixel secondary sensor. On the front, it features a 16-megapixel sensor for taking selfies.

Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack. It is powered by a 3,060mAh battery and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
