Samsung Galaxy A8 Star to be Available in India from Today

Samsung Galaxy A8 Star was launched by the South Korean tech giant in India last week and it is available for purchase via Amazon India starting today. To recall, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star is the global variant of the Samsung A9 Star which was launched in China a few months ago.

A mid-range smartphone from Samsung, the Galaxy A8 Star features a Super AMOLED display coupled with 6GB of RAM and dual cameras on the rear panel. The cameras are equipped with Samsung’s Dual Rear IntelliCam technology. Apart from these, the front camera is also equipped with Pro Lighting and Smart Beauty modes along with Bixby integration.

Coming to the price, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star carries a price tag of Rs 43,990 and launch offers include free 1-year screen protection plan, no-cost EMIs from Bajaj Finserv and 5% instant discount using HDFC Bank Credit card.

To recall the specifications, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star features a 6.3-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 X 2160 pixels and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. It is also protected on the top by a 2.5D and 3D Gorilla Glass that sits beside the metal frame. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM.

On the optics front, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star features a dual rear camera module with a 16-megapixel primary and 24-megapixel secondary sensor. On the front, it features another 24-megapixel sensor for taking selfies. It is also equipped with Smart Beauty and Pro Lighting features and also supports AR Stickers.

The device comes with 64GB of inbuilt storage space that is expandable with the help of a micro-SD card up to a maximum of 400GB. Connectivity options in the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack. It is fueled by a 3,700mAh battery under the hood and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
