Samsung Galaxy J2 Core Android Go Edition Smartphone Announced in India

South Korean tech giant Samsung has announced the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core smartphone in India and Malaysia. This is the first Android Go edition based device from the company and it comes with a long-lasting battery life, spacious storage capacity and lightning-quick processing power. It may be recalled that some leaked renders of the smartphone had appeared earlier that provided us with a glimpse of the device and also revealed its color options.

As per the company, the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core has been designed to provide optimum performance without compromising on the specifications and also comes with an Optimised Data Control capability that will ensure that the users do not have to worry about exceeding their data limits.

The smartphone also comes with preloaded Android Go edition based apps like Google Go, Files Go and Maps Go that do not take up too much storage space and provides up to 1.5 times of the available storage capacity to the users.

Coming to the specifications, the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core features a 5-inch QHD TFT display screen with a resolution of 540 X 960 pixels. It is powered by a quad-core Exynos 7570 SoC under the hood coupled with Mali T720 MP1 GPU. It is equipped with 1GB RAM and 8GB of inbuilt storage space which can be further upgraded with a micro-SD card.

On the optics front, the smartphone comes with a single camera module on the rear panel with an 8-megapixel sensor accompanied by an LED flash. On the front, it features a 5-megapixel sensor for taking selfies and video calling.

Connectivity options in the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v4.2, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and FM radio. The smartphone is fueled by a 2,600mAh battery and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition), It is expected to hit the Indian and Malaysian markets first starting on August 24, 2018. However, the pricing details have not been revealed by the company yet and we are expecting an announcement in this regard soon.
