Airtel Launches New Combo Prepaid Recharge Pack of Rs 97 to Take on its Rivals

Airtel has launched a new combo recharge plan of Rs 97 that comes with bundled data and talk time to challenge its rivals, especially Reliance Jio. The telecom operator had earlier launched a slew of combo plans priced at Rs 35, Rs 65 and Rs 95 which offers bundled data and voice calls with a longer validity period. The new Rs 97 plan is now available across all the circles in India and will provide data and voice calling benefits to the users.

Coming to the benefits offered by the new Rs 97 plan, it offers 350 minutes of local/STD and roaming voice calls. In addition to the voice calling benefits, the users will also get 1.5GB of 3G/4G data and 200 local and National SMS text messages. The plan comes with a validity of 29 days and is available across all the telecom circles. Users can subscribe to this plan from the official Airtel website or through My Airtel App. Notably, the other combo plans launched by the company earlier is available only in Punjab, Tamil Nadu, and UP (West) circles. Airtel has confirmed that those plans will be rolled out to other telecom circles soon.

Under the Rs 95 combo plan launched by Airtel earlier, the company is offering 500MB of 3G/4G data along with a talk time of Rs 95. Charges per call have been fixed at 1p/2s, unlike other plans that charge 1p/s. The plan comes with a validity of 28 days.

To compare these plans with Reliance Jio, it has a plan of Rs 98 that offers 2GB of data along with unlimited voice calling benefits and 300 SMS messages with a validity period of 28 days. The plan also offers a free complimentary subscription to Jio’s suite of apps. Reliance Jio also has a plan priced at Rs 99 that offers 500MB of data per day with a validity of 28 days. Users will also get unlimited voice calling benefits in this plan along with 300 SMS messages valid for the entire duration of 28 days.
