Garmin Fenix 5X Multi-Sport Smartwatch Launched in India

Garmin, the American smartwatch manufacturer has launched a new smartwatch in India. Called Garmin Fenix 5X Plus, the smartwatch targets sports and adventure lovers in the country and comes with a host of exciting features. Some of the major highlights include a built-in GPS and an Oximeter sensor that can effectively track oxygen saturation levels of the blood at high altitudes.

The new smartwatch by Garmin also includes some more features like an UltraTrac Power Saver Mode. The company claims that this technology once enabled in the watch can increase the battery life of the device by up to 64 hours which is quite impressive. Apart from this feature, the smartwatch also includes other features like smart notifications, a source to maintain health and fitness data, automatic upload support to GarminConnect and optimization options with applications.

“Garmin has launched this intelligent smartwatch with maps, music and payment features, keeping in mind the needs of the adventurers who engage in long stretched activities. When using the smartwatch users can travel light, the features in the watch bring convenience and fun to the user activities to make them memorable”, Ali Rizvi, National Sales Manager, Garmin India said.

Talking about the specifications, the Garmin Fenix 5X Plus features a 1.2-inch display with a resolution of 240 X 240 pixels. The body has been crafted out of stainless steel for added protection. The smartwatch also includes a scratch-resistant Sapphire lens embedded in a Chroma Display and LED backlight to air reading in low light conditions. Sensors onboard the Garmin Fenix %X Plus include a three-axis compass, a barometric altimeter and multisatellite support (GPS, GLONASS and Galileo networks).

Coming to the price of the Garmin Fenix 5X Plus, it comes with a price tag of Rs 79,999. The smartwatch can be purchased from Garmin online store at Rs 77,990. The company has also announced that the smartwatch will be available for purchase via third-party online stores like Flipkart and Paytm Mall soon.
