Rumors have been doing the rounds since the past few weeks that Samsung is currently working on a new range on smartphones which may be called Samsung Galaxy P30 and Galaxy P30 Plus. It is also being speculated that these devices could become the first smartphones from Samsung to feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. It may be recalled that Chinese smartphone makers like Vivo, Oppo and Xiaomi have already implemented the in-display fingerprint scanning technology. We can expect the new Galaxy P range of smartphones to get unveiled on October 11 at an event, already scheduled by the company.
Though there is no official confirmation of the launch date and Samsung is yet to reveal anything in this regard, we can expect it to launch soon as the device has already received its 3C certification from the Chinese authorities.
As per the certification listing, shared by MySmartPrice, the device comes with model number SM-G6200. The smartphone is expected to launch in China first and it may be rolled out to the global market later. However, there is no confirmation whether the device will make it out of China.
Apart from the model number, the certification listing does not reveal any other details about the smartphone. However, it is expected that the smartphone will launch in two storage variants of 64GB and 128GB and will be available in four color options of Blue, Black, Red, and Pink.
The new Samsung Galaxy P series is also expected to feature LCD display panels as it is compatible with the in-display fingerprint scanner technology. As per speculations, the Samsung Galaxy P30 and Galaxy P30 Plus will feature full HD+ Infinity display panels with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9 or higher. It may be powered by Samsung’s own octa-core Exynos 7885 SoC.
Also as per earlier reports, the Samsung Galaxy P30 may become the first device to arrive with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Notably, the flagship Samsung Galaxy S10 is also expected to feature the in-display fingerprint scanner but since it is likely to be announced at MWC 2019, it will not be the first device from the South Korean company to implement this new technology.
