Airtel Launches Rs 398 Prepaid Plan to Offer Unlimited Calls and Data

Off late, Airtel has been pretty active, when it comes to launching new prepaid plans for its customers. In order to compete with Reliance Jio more effectively, it has now launched a new prepaid plan priced at Rs 398 to offer unlimited calls and data. The plan comes with a validity period of 70 days and will compete with similar plans from Jio, Vodafone and Idea.

Under the new Rs 398 plan, the company is offering unlimited voice calls across any network in the country and 1.5GB 3G/4G data per day. The plan also provides 90 SMS messages per day to the customers. Notably, this plan is now available in all the circles so all customers can take advantage of it. Another advantage of this pack is that it does not come with any daily or weekly FUP limits of any kind.

Airtel also has a Rs 399 prepaid plan that was launched earlier. Under this plan, the company offers 1GB of 3G/4G data per day along with unlimited local/STD and roaming calls across all networks. It also offers 100SMS messages per day and comes with a validity of either 70 days or 84 days depending on the telecom circle you are in. So in comparison, the Rs 398 prepaid pack is a better plan as it offers more data to the customers although it comes with a shorter validity period of 70 days.

To compare this plan with Reliance Jio, the Mukesh Ambani led company has a Rs 398 prepaid plan that offers 2GB of 4G data per day which is more than what Airtel is currently offering. In addition to the data benefits, the Reliance Jio plan also offers truly unlimited local, STD and roaming call benefits with any FUP limits. The plan offers 100SMS messages per day along with a free complimentary subscription to Jio’s app suite. The plan has a validity of 70 days.
