Chinese smartphone maker Asus has announced that it has started rolling out the Android 8.1 Oreo update to Zenfone 4 Selfie. Notably, Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie was launched in August this year and it was made available in the market in late September. The company had launched two variants of the Zenfone 4 Selfie and both of them have started receiving the Android 8.1 Oreo update.
The update is being rolled out over the air (OTA) and consumers can check for it manually by heading to Settings> Software Updates. Asus has announced that the update is being rolled out in a phased manner so it may take a couple of days for all users to receive the update. The company made the announcement in its official forum and has confirmed that both variants of the Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie will be receiving the update. The company had unveiled two models of the Zenfone 4 Selfie; one with a single front camera while the other variant features a dual front camera module. The Android 8.1 Oreo update comes with software version number 5.0400.1809.405.
To recall the specifications, the Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie sports a 5.5-inch HD LCD display with a resolution of 720 X 1280 pixels. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430Soc coupled with 4GB of RAM. It features 64GB of internal storage space which can be further upgraded with the help of a micro-SD card up to a maximum of 128GB through a dedicated slot.
On the optics front, there are two variants of the smartphone. The first variant with a single front camera features a 13-megapixel sensor on both sides of the handset. The other variant features a dual front camera setup comprising of a 20-megapixel and an 8-megapixel sensor. On the back, it features a 16-megapixel sensor. Connectivity options in the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1 and WiFi. It also features a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel and is powered by a 3,000mAh battery under the hood.
