OnePlus 6T with in-display Fingerprint Sensor, Notch Display and More Launched

OnePlus has launched the OnePlus 6T flagship device in an event held in New York City yesterday. The smartphone becomes the successor to OnePlus 6 launched earlier in the year and features several new aspects from its predecessor. Some of the major highlights of this phone include an in-display fingerprint sensor, a larger battery, smaller notch, improved low light imaging capabilities, and a larger display. In addition to all these features, OnePlus has also removed the 3.5mm headphone jack from the OnePLus 6T so the users will have to depend on the USB Type-C port and Bluetooth for listening to music on their headphones.

Coming to the price, the OnePlus 6T price starts at $549 for the 6GB RAM variant with 128GB inbuilt storage space. The 8GB RAM variant with 128GB internal storage comes with a price tag of $579 while the largest variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB inbuilt storage comes with a price tag of $629. The company has not announced the price of the smartphone in India and it is expected to do so today at the launch event scheduled to happen from 8:30 pm IST. The OnePlus 6T will go on sale via Reliance Digital stores and OnePlus stores in the country from November 1.

Talking about the specifications, the OnePlus 6T sports a 6.41-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It is protected on the top by Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on the top. It features a water drop style notch with a three-in-one ambient light sensor, distance, and RGB sensor. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845SoC coupled with 6GB or 8GB of RAM.

On the imaging front, the OnePLus 6T features a dual rear camera setup comprising of a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 20-megapixel secondary sensor. The cameras can record videos at 4K resolution and 60fps, Super Slow Motion videos at 1080p, 720p or 480p resolutions.

The device comes with either 128GB or 256GB of inbuilt storage space which is not upgradable via a micro-SD card. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS and USB Type-C port. Powered by a 3,700mAh battery under the hood, the smartphone runs on Android 9 Pie out of the box.
